This year was a challenging year for local, provincial as well as national government. It has taught us a lot of lessons that we can use in improving the lives of our people in 2012. We as //Khara Hais Municipality an unqualified audit for 2010/2011 financial year. This means that the Municipality met the requirements of the Office of the Auditor-General.
We have also made a huge impact in contributing in the fight against Global Warming by launching a Solar Park Project in Upington. As you, THE RESIDENT, is aware there was a climate change conference that recently took place in Durban. We as //Khara Hais Municipality was one of the eleven Municipalities that Exhibited at the conference. We have drawn the attention of the international community to our area.
All these achievements were made possible by the Council, the Officials, and most important by you THE RESIDENT.

I want to congratulate all the matriculants who wrote their end of the year exams. It is not the end of your learning process if you did not make it in the exams. There is still a chance to write supplementary exams.

Hierdie was 'n jaar met baie uitdagings vir die Plaaslike, Provinsiale sowel as Nasional Regering. Ons het baie lesse geleer wat gebruik kan word om die lewens van die mense in 2012 te verbeter. Munisipaliteit //Khara Hais het 'n ongekwalifiseerde oudit vir 2010/2011 finansiële boekjaar ontvang, dit beteken dat die munisipaliteit aan alle vereistes van die Kantoor van die Ouditeur -Generaal voldoen. Ons het ook 'n groot impak, deur ons bydrae om aardverwarming te beveg gemaak deur middel van die loodsing van die sonkragenergieprojek in Upington. Daar het onlangs 'n Klimaatsveranderingkonferensie in Durban plaasgevind.
Munisipaliteit //Khara Hais was een die munisipaliteite wat by die konferensie uitgestaan het.
Ons het die aandag van die internasionale gemeenskap na ons munisipaliteit getrek. Hierdie prestasies was deur die raad, amptenare en die mees belangrikste, DIE INWONERS moontlik gemaak.
Vir digene van u wat uit Upington oor die Kersfees vertrek wens ek 'n veilige reis toe. Kom veilig tuis! EK wil ook aan alle Matrikulante gelukwens wat die eindeksamen geskryf het. Dit is nie die einde van die leerloopbaan as jy dit nie gemaak het nie. Daar is nog 'n geleentheid om oor te skryf.
